Silver was used for thousands of years as a natural healer, sickness preventor and health tonic until it fell out of favour with the invention of antibiotics. They were cheap to produce and the drugs companies could patent them and make a fortune out of selling them. Silver was pushed to one side and almost forgotten about. However, as more and more illnesses and disease have started to become resistant to commercially available drugs, scientists have started to look at silver again and see just how special it is. Scientific research was shown that colloidal silver can kill over 650 bacteria, virus and fungus. So far, not one of these 650 have developed a resistance to colloidal silver, unlike with many antibiotics available today. Scientists are hoping to soon start carrying out research to see if colloidal silver will work against the latest potential epidemic - bird flu. As with everything, products vary from one producer to another. If you research CS on the internet you will find good and bad information on it. Not all CS is the same and varies in type and quality. Never use buy anything that is dark yellow or any other colour than clear (like water) and only use ionic colloidal silver, not silver proteins or silver salts.
